Robert de Vaugondy was the premier cartographer in 18th century France. This unique historic replica globe is an accurate representation of the globe that Vaugondy presented as a gift to French King Louis XV.

The globe charts the courses of the major explorers of the early 18th century and before. You can follow in the tracks of Megellan and other early explorers who embarked on epic journeys into a world that was unknown, mysterious and dangerous.

This globe comes with a rich cherry-finished wood disk base for display. This wood base is sometimes sold separately with this globe, but we include them with the price here at TopGlobes.com.

This item is great for anyone interested in old-world, antique cartography as well as anyone interested in the paths of early ocean-going explorers. It will also make a great conversation piece.

The Vaugondy Globe with disk base is available in three sizes and two colors. The small size measures 12 centemeters (about 4.75 inches) in diameter. The medium measures 14 centemeters (about 5.5 inches) in diameter, and the large size measures 18 centemeters (about 7 inches in diameter). The color choices are Ivory and Black, available for each size.
